Overview

The Kuari Pass Trek in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand offers panoramic mountain views, snow-covered trails, alpine meadows, and beginner-friendly paths. Known as the “Curzon Trail,” this trek is accessible to both novices and experienced trekkers.

From the very first day, trekkers are rewarded with stunning views of Mt. Nanda Devi, Gauri Parbat, Nanda Ghunti, Hathi Parbat, Neelkanth, Dronagiri, Kamet, and Lampak I & II. The trail passes through oak and rhododendron forests, vast meadows like Gorson Bugyal, and Himalayan villages.

Brahmatal Trek Guide

Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate
  • 20 km trek from 6,400 ft to 12,500 ft
  • Summit day: 7–8 hours (5 hours ascent, 2–3 hours descent)
  • Multiple exit points for solo trekkers
Preparation Tips:
  • Physical: Improve cardiovascular health, leg and core strength, gradual hikes
  • Gear: Waterproof shoes, warm layered clothes, gloves, sunglasses, sleeping bag
  • Safety: Travel with guides, carry first-aid kit, acclimatize properly
  • Mental: Be prepared for cold, steep climbs, and changing weather

Itinerary

Itinerary Highlights:
  • Assemble at 6:00 AM pickup point.
  • Check-in at designated homestay. Evening at leisure.
  • Trek through Himalayan hamlets and forests.
  • Lunch at Guling campsite. Evening campfire and dinner.
  • En-route packed lunch. Evening stargazing at Khullara campsite.
  • Summit day with panoramic Himalayan views.
  • Return to Khullara campsite for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Trek back through meadows and forests.
  • Evening at homestay in Joshimath / Pipalkoti.
  • Scenic drive back via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnprayag. End of tour.

  • Snacks & Beverages: Tea/Coffee with light snacks
  • Trek Leader & Support Staff: Experienced and certified
  • Trekking & Safety Equipment: Gaiters, Micro Spikes, First Aid kit, Oxygen, Walkie Talkies
  • Permits: All necessary trekking permits (for Indian nationals)
